I’m sharing a recipe for homemade pumpkin pie spice because making your own is way more fun than buying it at the store. Plus, you can change it up based on your taste buds. Love cinnamon? Add more. Hate cloves? Leave ’em out! Add some cardamom! Add some crushed up Xanax! Just kidding. Don’t do that.
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Makes 6 1/2 tablespoons
(All spices are ground, obviously.)
2 Tbsp allspice
2 Tbsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp ginger
1 Tbsp nutmeg
1/2 Tbsp cloves
Combine everything in whatever container you want (spice shaker, mason jar, sandwich bag, etc.).
If your container has a small opening, measure the spices into a small bowl and use a square of parchment paper as a funnel to get it into your container.
Close the container and shake it all up. Then ask your significant other to make a label for you and laugh hysterically when you see it.
PRETTY COOL.
Use your spice mix to make things taste autumny, like pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin spice lattes… You get the idea.
Enjoy!
